The Hangman's Daughter & The Dark Monk
I’m reading this great book series. ^
It’s very different than anything I’ve ever read. Very detailed and haunting.
I never knew I would want to read about hangman Jakob Kuisl in 1660’s Germany. The author himself, Pötzsch, is actually descended from a line a hangmen and it adds a real layer of authenticity to the madness.

do you ever think about how weird reading is
our eyes are able to scan these different symbols and construct the scenarios and concepts they describe in our mind
and these concepts have the power to twist our emotions and make us cry and laugh and wow reading is weird
